Your passwords. A clearer choice.

Choose a password manager for the way you use your devices. Start with the tasks it should help you do, then check the plan, recovery process and full subscription cost.

PERSONAL SOFTWARE BUYING GUIDE

Pickuvo is an affiliate publisher. NordPass is our linked password-manager option; this guide is not a ranking of every provider, our own security test or a promise that a product will prevent every account compromise.

Check your next step

Three checks before the feature list.

A longer list of features does not automatically make a plan a better fit. A useful choice handles the devices and everyday tasks you care about, with a recovery process you understand.

Your devices

List the phones, computers and browsers you actually use. Check the current system requirements, extensions and how the selected plan handles access across them.

Will it work where I sign in?

Your daily routine

Try the tasks you repeat: saving a login, finding it later, generating a password and filling a form. Check passkey support separately from password storage.

Will I use it consistently?

Your recovery plan

Understand the master-password and recovery-code process before moving important logins. Find out what happens if you lose access to your phone, email or recovery information.

Can I regain access?

A practical first task

Write down one login you use often, the devices you access it from and whether you need to share it. Use that example to check the app and plan. Do not enter a password into Pickuvo; we do not offer a vault or ask for your credentials.

Choose the plan before the payment.

These are questions to compare across plan types, not a feature table or price comparison. Check the provider’s current plan details; the same label can include different capabilities.

Free personal tier

Start with the essentials.

  • Check storage, device access and any active-session limits.
  • Identify which features require a paid plan.
  • Decide whether the features you already have are enough.

Paid personal plan

Pay for a task you need.

  • Match the included features to your own workflow.
  • Compare the upfront payment with the renewal charge.
  • Check cancellation, refund conditions and what happens when the term ends.

Family or shared plan

Check every person’s access.

  • Confirm the number of separate accounts and who controls the subscription.
  • Distinguish separate vaults from sharing individual items.
  • Check invitation, access removal and renewal arrangements.

Separate core tasks from extras

For NordPass, the current product information describes password and passkey storage, password generation, autosave and autofill. Personal paid plans can add features beyond the free tier. Check which features belong to the exact plan and devices you select. A feature’s availability is not independent evidence of its security performance.

Look at the complete cost

Read the amount charged today, how long that payment covers and the charge at renewal. A monthly-equivalent display can represent a longer term paid upfront. Include any checkout tax, and read the cancellation and refund conditions. Decide when you would review the subscription again; a trial or introductory offer does not establish the continuing price.

Moving passwords needs its own checklist.

Before importing

Check the supported import format and the categories that can transfer. Passwords, passkeys, notes and attachments may have different transfer rules. Read the instructions from both services rather than assuming every item moves in the same way.

After importing, check that the items you need are present and usable before removing your previous copy. Review any temporary export file carefully: it contains sensitive information and should not be emailed or shared over untrusted channels.

Before relying on recovery

Find the current instructions for the account, master password and recovery code. These can be separate parts of access. Do not assume that resetting an account preserves everything in the vault.

NordPass’s personal support instructions describe using a recovery code when the master password is forgotten. Read those instructions during setup and decide where you will keep your recovery information. Never share it with Pickuvo.

Keep the choice reversible

Read the export procedure before paying for a long term. NordPass documents exporting vault items as a CSV file after confirming the master password. Check which items are included and how another service would import them. An available export button does not establish that every item or passkey can transfer.

Six answers worth having.

  1. Devices: My phone, computer and browser meet the current requirements.
  2. Plan: The exact features I need are included, and I know any relevant limits.
  3. Access: I understand the master-password, account and recovery process.
  4. Moving: I have checked the import and export instructions for the items I use.
  5. Payment: I know the upfront amount, term, tax and renewal charge.
  6. Ending: I know how to cancel and what happens to access after the paid term.

If an answer is missing, check the provider’s documentation before subscribing. A password manager helps organize credentials; careful device use and account-recovery practices still matter.
